2 week project, making a dress out of magazines for a musician to wear on stage. rip to this dress, it had to be tossed when my old apartment became roach infested :(
one shoulder top, 2024
out of office
a one shoulder top that is sort of a play on a tailored shirt or jacket. Made as part of my processing my time working in an office, and marking this on my calendar to ensure Microsoft Teams would stay quiet, for just a bit. skirt and vest also made by me.

I don't want to cope, I want to heal
I pulled this quote from my journals from January 2025. red netting skirt with a canvas bodice and twill tape accents. I have struggled with my mental health since since I was a teenager. This piece is both painful and beautiful to me, and a reminder to work towards healing.

flower bodice
I decided to paint this pattern onto a bodice I had made, and then, for whatever reason I decided to hand bead the entire thing. I have no idea how long this took me.

2014 homecoming dress
okay so I am calling it this because I personally would have worn this to homecoming in 2014 at my catholic high school. Features a fitted bodice, and a draped skirt with pickups. Pairs well with a beauty youtube tutorial from 2014.

Cutting Ties
faux leather set that I made in response to a set that was vaguely bridal. It feels weird to say "this set is about relationships ending" with clothing, but that's the truth. My long term relationship ended, and I made this set in part to process that ending.

I saw a dress kind of like this on the urban outfitters clearance section in 2015 and my dad said it was too grown up for me, but I'm 26 now, so I think I'm grown up enough for it now (maybe).

heartstrings
I've been trying to find ways to use up this black knit fabric that I just don't love working with, and I found a way that I actually like. a draped dress, using some red scrap tulle, about heartache and heartbreak.

so 2014, do you see the toms?? anyway, I made this dress out of magazines, and it won the grand prize for the childrens art section at the MN state fair in 2014. I think I won $21. pretty cool.

fun whimsical dress, with pearl beads and pieces of embrodiered mesh that I got in a box of fabric from fb marketplace. I cut it up into strips and draped it over the tissue taffeta bias cut dress.
